What if you could change the world just by going on vacation?
The definition of Community Tourism is tourism that is community-owned or managed – that aims to benefit the local community. It was born out of the idea that tourism can be a tool for community development while, at the same time, offering unique local experiences for travelers. But our definition is greater than that. The communities we benefit extend well beyond the people & places our travelers visit. Community Tourism is not just something that happens, we all have a role to play and we need YOU to make it happen.
Community tourism starts with our people. Our purpose with our Funway Cares program is to change people’s lives through travel. Through our beliefs, behaviors, and our actions to make the world a better place, we bring Funway Cares to life in everything we do. But it doesn’t stop there. When we experience and model Funway Cares ourselves, we inspire more and more people to join our community. Taking Community Tourism from a small standard definition to a large, inclusive engine of change.
Our community culture grows with us and extends outwards to others who also believe that travel can be a force for good, brining all of these communities together to build one big community committed to the same purpose. The ripples represent communities, and each one we add creates a bigger movement, and more impact. It’s about expanding and harnessing the power of Funway Cares through Community Tourism.
